Mommy, What should I think about??

Sometime ago ... perhaps a year or so ago ... Ian began asking the same question every night at bed time ... "Mommy, What should I think about?"

And every night it is up to me to come up with a new and creative idea for him to think of as he drifts off to dream land. So from yellow monkeys and blue and red polka dot elephants to flying in space and back to swimming in the ocean, Ian and I have lived every Dr. Seuss book, conquered many battles, and have had many great adventures.

A key part of the routine is for Ian to wait until after I’ve tucked him in and left the room … then his sweet voice calls out … “Mom … what should I think about?”

I look forward to coming up with new ideas and have changed the color of every animal I can think of. Cats playing with Dogs, Mice moving mountains … and this past week something AMAZING and most WONDERFUL has happened.

Anna has begun to ask the same question. In her sweet, high pitched, raspy voice … “Mommy, What sood I tink bout?”

After listening to her brother call out night after night ... she has jump on the band wagon!

My suggestions to her are much simpler … think about Ian and Mommy playing tag with her, or playing at the play ground. But the end result is still the same. Night time routines are made … memories created … and years from now they may not remember the neon pink alligator washing dishes with the mini green giraffe … they will remember the moment … with Mom as I tucked them into bed … and they will know I love them with all my heart.

And now I ask you … “What should I think about?”

Thank you Easter Bunny ... and thank you Shannon!

Happy Easter!

Today the bunny came .. the bunny left treats .. the bunny is sleepy :)

Happy smiles ... lots of giggles ... who needs sleep?

Perhaps someday I will learn to not go quite so overboard on the holidays ... nah! Children are only young once .. and I intend to make every second count!

Anna was playing catch up as both kids ran around the family room searching for eggs. They are also convinced the Easter Bunny's basket spilled extra treats in the back yard as he tried to leave (damn I'm good!)

Ian did a wonderful job helping his lil' sis find the eggs. And I am sure the sugar rush lasted from 9am to 9pm.

We then spent the afternoon with the Paluzzi family. Jeff and Shannon provided a wonderful Easter Linner (not quite lunch, not quite dinner!) And then they entertained all the youngin's with another Easter treat hunt. Ian made out like a bandit ... and Anna has way more candy then any little girl needs.

So thank you Easter Bunny ... and thank you Shannon ... it was a most excellent day!

Bring On the Bunny

It has been a wonderful day!

We started out with an easter egg hunt at the West Valley Fitness Center!

Although you may ask which part was the hunt. Perhaps hunting for a parking spot? or which field we should be on?

Since it was only the three of us Anna and I joined Ian with the older kids on the 6-8 year old field. I was a little nervous the big kids would run her down ... but all turned out well. She was able to grab a few eggs on her own and exclaimed, "This is so fun Mommy!"

Both were quite happy with their findings and are looking forward to what tomorrow will bring for them.

In the evening we colored eggs.

Anna only cracked three and Ian learned to multi-color the eggs!

I love our family time and cherish these days!
Now the house is clean, the eggs are colored, the children are asleep! Bring on the BUNNY!
